Our Aboriginal dances

are those performed in and near the Yugambeh nation. Our dance culture is performed with the permission of Elders. Special acknowledgement is always given when dances are performed from other Indigenous communities.

Torres Strait Islander Dance

All Torres Strait Islander Dance Performances are representative of dances from Darnley Island. Darnley Island is located in the eastern area of the Torres Strait Islands. Each dancer is trained and mentored by Torres Strait Islander Elders.

The Elders maintain an ongoing relationship with each performer via regular tutorials conducted at the Jaran ATSIDC studio on the Gold Coast.

The ensures that traditional protocol - relating to language, song and dance - is closely maintained.
